What makes them exempt thanks for any advice. I read some of the other threads where it indicates it is semi auto. Just be absolutely sure of that fact. I'm not sure of the legality of having a removable pistol grip on it because it can be switched out with a stock in only about 4 seconds. Are you sure it is a legal pistol?

Just because some guy told you it was legally built with semi parts does not make it so. I just don't want you to run into any 'issues' with it, for penalities are severe.

As far as the Sten goes, I am not familiar with the rear end on them but there needs to be SOMETHING that keeps it from having a buttstock easily attached I believe. If you plan on doing SBR paperwork for it and putting a stock on, then you might just think about having your smith handling the paperwork hold onto it in the meantime. OR you could swap the barrel or put an extension on the barrel to take it over the 16' mark until the paperwork comes through. And as was mentioned earlier.
